Margaret Newcom Snodgrass

A reader wrote the following:

My gr gr grandmother was Margaret Newcomb, ca 1795 in VA . Margaret married William Snodgrass 5 June, 1815 in Montgomery Co, Ohio. I have never been able to determine who her parents were. There were several Newcom males in Dayton, Montgomery Co Ohio as early as 1804, who are mentioned as early settlers and men who helped develop early Dayton. Does anyone know who Margaret's parents were? ANY info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Jo Snodgrass

Finding Newcomb relatives

A reader wrote the following:

My name Debbie Stiles and my father was Meredith Newcomb Stiles. For that reason I was interested in the website the Newcombs of America. I am distantly related to a Georgie Claxton Newcomb Love who apparently had a son named George Love who would be 102 if he were alive. I don't know how to do this sort of research. George Love is probably dead - an address I have that is many decades old is George Love 35 Walnut St. Brockton. How do I find out more? stilesda@charter.net

Ira Marvin Stansbury

A reader wrote the following:

ID: 1156137. (R.K. West Master List). Ira Marvin Stansbury. He was my grandfather. The book Andrew Newcomb and His Descendants by Bethuel Merritt Newcomb is listed as a source for the information listed in RK. West's Master List. I am unable to locate a copy of that book. I think I may be a cousin, but I am very new at genealogy and could use some help to determine where we fit in with the Newcombs. Emily Madalene Newcomb was my great grandmother.

I don't know if the book Descendants of Baptist Newcomb would be helpful tracing my family lineage, but if so I would purchase it.

Thank you for any help you can give to me.
