I recently became interested in tracing my ancestry and came across the Arthur G. Newcomb inquiry but was unable to contact the writer through email. Is it posible to get an email address for the writer or have that person contact me at opanewcomb @ yahoo.com. I would be interested in talking with this person or to anyone that may have information concerning my grandfather, E.B. Newcomb of L.A. CA.
Do you know anything about your grandfather beyond his intials? There's always a chance I have information in my database that would be of interest, but I need more clues. If you have some information such as dates (or approximate dates) of birth and death, his full name, name of his wife, names of any children, etc., etc., it increases the chances of correctly identifying him.
ReplyDeleteHis full name was Erwin Barrett Newcomb Jr. He first married to Charlotte Mann and they had a son. Erwin Barrett Newcomb III (my father). Erwin Jr then divorced Charlotte and move to CA, where he married Arthur G. Newcomb's mother.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have information on him. His parents were Erwin Barrett Newcomb (1855-1902) and Isabel Hamblen (1860- ). His second wife's name was Bertha. Bertha had two children from her previous marriage to Arthur Young. Erwin and Bertha had two more children together. The 1930 census shows them in Los Angeles, where he was quartermaster at the soldiers' home. Erwin Newcomb was a descendant of Andrew Newcomb.
